The European and Development Programmes Agency (EDPA) of the Ministry of Interior (Public Order and Citizen Protection Sector), established in 2011, is responsible for the management of European and Development funding programmes of the aforementioned Ministry, as well as the coordination of the relevant services of the Ministry (mainly Hellenic Police Divisions), in order to implement successfully the above mentioned actions. During the period 2011 – 2013, EDPA was appointed Responsible Authority in Greece for the European External Borders Fund (Decision No. 574/2007/EC – 23/05/2007) and European Return Fund (Decision No. 575/2007/EC – 23/05/2007), in the framework of the General Program «Solidarity and Management of Migration Flows». Currently, EDPA is acting as Delegated Authority of the Internal Security Fund (Decision Nos 515/2014/EC and 513/2014/EC) and the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund – Return Pillar (Decision No. 516/2014/EC). Furthermore, EDPA was managing Programme GR06 of the «Asylum and Migration» sector of EEA Grants 2009 – 2014, and is currently managing Programme G of the same sector for period 2014-2021. EDPA is participating in this project in cooperation and representing Hellenic Police (YDEAP). The Hellenic Police force consists of police officers, civilians, special police guards, and Border Guards. In D4FLY, the EDPA/ YDEAP is participating as Border Guard in the project, with expertise on borders and visa.
