D4FLY visited the Eurotunnel border crossing point between France and the UK in Coquelles, France, on the 4th of February 2020. The D4FLY representatives team included participants from VERIDOS, VTT, UoR and UKHomeOffice.
The study visit was conducted on the UK control zone and was hosted by the UK Border Force.
Observation and interview sessions took place aiming to define the traffic profile, volumes and processing procedures, the document used in border control and the pre-entry information collected.
Discussions followed on the current infrastructure capabilities and operational environment concluding with a specification on the needs and implications faced on a daily service routine.
